Entertaiment is the activity of facilitating pleasure. It is understood objectively, involves communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience to exist and takes place in a passive form.
In the past, entertainment could be a leisure activity adapted to an individual, such as a banquet for two, or a party with appropriate music and dance. However, it is now possible for entertainment products to be recorded and marketed in huge quantities. Consequently, what was once a necessary skill for certain groups, such as fencing or archery, may have developed into global competitions for entertainment. Entertainment is a major industry with contributions from individuals and organisations. It is one of the most important societal needs and contributes to a well-being society.
