The Chicago Daily News

The Chicago Daily News was a daily newspaper that was published in Chicago, Illinois. Its coverage of local, state, and national issues made it a popular choice for readers in the midwest. However, its popularity waned after the Great Depression, and it was no longer published after 1945. Instead, it was replaced by the Chicago Tribune, which was a much more popular option.

In the early twentieth century, the Chicago Daily News was also famous for its photographs. Its photographers took more than 55,000 photos in the first decade, and about twenty percent of them were printed in the newspaper. The paper was sold for a cent each day. Today, the newspaper’s website allows anyone to view the photographs that were taken over the years. The pictures range from street scenes to buildings to prominent figures.

The Chicago Daily News was founded on December 31, 1875, by Melville E. Stone. The first issue was published on Christmas day, and in 1876, the paper was sold to Victor Fremont Larson. At that time, the Chicago Daily News was only sold for one cent a day. In the 1920s, the newspaper also experimented with radio and television. In the 1930s, Field Interprises purchased the paper and moved it to a building on N Wabash Ave.

The New York Daily News

The New York Daily News is a newspaper that has a large circulation and is printed in Jersey City, NJ. It was founded in 1919 by Joseph Medill Patterson as the Illustrated Daily News, and it reached its peak circulation in 1947 of 2.4 million daily copies. Today, the paper is one of the most widely read newspapers in the country.

Despite the newspaper’s financial problems, it has continued to thrive. In the early 1990s, the paper became the only newspaper in the United States to use the original keyless inking system from Rockwell Graphic Systems. After Rockwell sold their press business to Goss, the Daily News sued the company, alleging technical deficiencies. The suit was dismissed after two appeals.

The Daily News’ editorial page has been described as “flexibly centrist.” In a nutshell, the daily newspaper’s editorial page is a blend of liberal and conservative views. Its editorial page, for example, supports abortion, while its business section advocates for a more conservative view on foreign policy. It has also been noted for its pro-Israel stance and anti-Castro editorials.
